New Year

The year begins like the day begins,
like most other days begin:
Body needs stretching,
Cats need feeding,
Housework is waiting,
Sermon is perking,
Coffee is brewing,
Plans are getting made.

For all the grand intentions
Of every New Year,
The Truth is waiting to be found
And embraced
And shared
In every New Day.
